Beak rubbing

Hi everyone,

My Alexandrine parrot is constantly rubbing it's beak on the cage bars and it seems to be getting more obsessive by the day. At first I wasn't too concerned but now it's poor beak is starting to look really scratched up... is this behaviour normal or maybe a sign of boredom?? How can I help my poor little parrots beak look nice and healthy again?

is it mainly after eating? all my birds (alex and ringnecks) do it but not all the time like you described. Maybe try giving him something to chew on like a nice big branch and try to distract him from doing it.
