Hello!
My 2 Irn's are at it again, bless em. Theyre young maybe 6-8 months old and am still waiting to find out what sex they are.
They seem to take turns at chasing and trying to fight or be scared of each other.
Before it was the boisterous Mojo who was the bully but now they have swapped roles and biggles the usually quiet and shy mogwai has got all aggressive and seems to have got the upper claw on the former bully.
I was planning on splitting them up anyway but why would there be such a sudden change in biggles, why all of a sudden so aggressive???? I am very worried for mojo as he looks all fluffed up and under character, he was bigger than life a few days ago and now he's nervous all the time as biggles has scared him off the cage quite a few times today!!!
what to do!
I'd really appreciate a few pieces of advice if you can offer some
thanks
sean

Re: Worried!
Hey sean!
Before I answer—thanks for your photos today! It was greatly appreciated!
Sounds like your ringnecks are getting older. As they become mature they become more territorial and they start to change. Mentally, they need their space and this is quite normal. My baby ringnecks start to become independent during this stage too, so much so, that I often separate them.
Make sure each ringneck has its own cage as a fight can end in death if not monitored. To help strengthen their bond you can move the cage to a completely different room. This upsets their pecking order and hopefully helps them cling together. See how that works!
Please keep me updated

Re: Worried!
Thanks Imran!!!!!
Pheeeeew reassuring to know it's natural but again wished everyone could just get along
I must say taking on 2 birds was a little nerve racking for me as, cats and dogs, generally am so used to but birdys (especially these ones)! anyway slowly but surely we're getting used to each other. Their intelligence is Bewildering!!!
a mix of brains and outright cheeky cockiness!!!
I enjoy their wake up alarm every morning, which isnt a bad thing for me as it keeps me from sleeping in when works quiet!!
I guess once i separate them i will be able to tame them batter aswell. Dubai's excessively expensive for these things but will get them another big cage with wheels this time and i'm sure theyll live happily ever after!!
Thanks Imran will have a look at your website aswell!
