pairings

Post by riantango08 »

i have 6 irns(2 male and 4 female)
what would be the best pairing with this lot as not to end up with greens

green/ino cock
blue cock

lutino female
blue female
grey female
green lacewing female

i was going to pair up the green cock with the lacewing hen,but now im going to pair it up with the blue hen, hoping ill get albino babys
also whats the best lacewing cock to pair up with the lacewing female

the rest of the females will be getting new mates within the next couple of months before breeding season,i just dont want to end up with alot of green babys
im off to look at some lacewing cocks today, but wont be getting 1 for a few weeks
thanks for looking and appreciate your help

The green/ino cock should be paired to the lutino or the green lacewing (pallid) female (I prefere the pallid female to try to get pallidino males)
The blue cock should be paired to the blue or the grey female (I prefere the grey female, if she is SF grey, to obtain blue and grey chicks)

This is wrong: you will only get green males split blue (50% also split lutino), and 50% green females split blue, and 50% lutino females split also blue. To get albinos you need to pass through split birds (another generation of breeding = 2 years)

You just need a male split lacewing (pallid). If the female is not split to other mutations and you want to introduce other colours to be seen in the first generation ... male grey or violet (while ... it is a pity to introduce violet without blue genes).

Good luck and good breeding season
