Sounds like a american name healesville ,never heard of it here lol.
They are nice birds lavenders i have a stunning cock bird for breeding.
Problem is not many breed them as they are cinnamon line birds and all top breeders want nothing to do with cinnamon or ino,my personal thoughts are cinnamon birds are alot nicer coloured than staright birds but as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Im hoping to get either a skyblue or pastel skyblue baby from another nest to pair it up with so who ever buys them then maybe lucky and get it to breed next year if (it) turns out to be a hen.

& where the black satuday bushfires were
the birds all sound lovley im at the momment trying to figure out how to make my avairies safe from butcher birds as my cinomon green hen was killed by them last week then it looks like i will be buying more hens (unless pickle is a girl) kieron will need a new mate & skeet is his offspring

Hi again
I have alot of avairies about 60 or more.
On all ringneck ones i use heavy 10mm x 10mm wire.
There are alot of butcher birds and minor birds here but none have killed any ringnecks.
Seeing the wire is so small i dont think they can get there beaks in far to do any damage.
I do now the grey minor birds are known for picking smaller birds eyes out but if they cant get there beaks in far enough to open there beaks for the attack they cant do anything.
I would suggest 10mm square wire unless of course you already have this size and they are still getting to them.
I also have a string line above all averies with old cd disks on them which also seems to deter birds from landing on top of my averies.

cool idea do the cds unsettle your birds at all ?
i was tolld thats the biggest hassle finding something that deters the butcher birds without scaring my guys

Maybe for a day or so they were wary of them but after that they act like there not there but wild birds think twice,i suppose its like a scare crow in a feild.
As they twist and move in the wind wild birds dont like them especially when different coloured light is displayed from the cds.

sounds good il tell dad about it (hes making my new avairies) he may find a way to intergrate it into his design
