Hi. got a pair and an extra cock on 20 October this year. They were caught by a friend eating on the guava tree beside his house here in Baguio City, Philippines. Always wanted to have IRN and now I can't believe I have three! I bought them real cheap. $40 or Php 2000! My friend just wanted to turn the birds into cash and since petshops wont buy them because they can't sell exotic birds back here the birds ended up with me. I bought a puppy cage , 17 x 17 x 24 inches for the extra cock and put the pair in an old cage my breeding African lovebirds use to be in. Yesterday, i built a nest for the pair and attached it to the pair's cage. I'm an art teacher here at Brent International School and so I can't be with the birds as much as I want to but we are a day away from a 10-day semester break and I can't wait to make up for it.

Save us to your favorites. The knowledge one can acquire here is priceless and there isnt much out the concerning Ringnecks, unfortunately.
As far as your housing of the new babies, PLEASE MAKE SURE THE BAR SPACING IS NO MORE THAN A HALF AN INCH. These are extremely active and curious creatures. They get themselves into tons of trouble all the time. If your bird is playing and gets her head stuck in between the bars she could A: freak out and break her neck or B: flap about and break a blood feather and bleed to death very quickly. Birds do not clot like humans. A bleeding bird is a dead bird unless it is stopped very quickly. This is not to be taken lightly, I have a panic attack everytime my babies get their nails trimmed out of fear of them bleeding to death.
