Any helpful information!!

Post by dduncan »

 My name is Diane. I have become the owner of a ringneck parakeet about a month ago. We get along pretty will but I would like to do better. He seems to get moods when he likes to try to attack and bite, even though he does not really bite you.
I think he gets scared very easily. He is close to and seems to like me a lot, but not many others.
He is two years old since Feb. Eats and drinks well, very curious. He talks, laughs, and whistles.
I just need more information.

If you know of bluffing stage then does it seem like it to you?
If not it just maybe S/HE is still a bit uncomfortable with hands, The
thing is you need to spend more time with the bird. To do this you
need the bird to step up, Once you get that out of the way even if
its a struggle to step up, You need to bring the bird into a small room
so S/HE tries to not fly back to the cage. Wen your inside the room
(Bathroom or small room) speak to it & whatever comes to mind.
Trick is to do this daily, Even for the people who's bird is tame, Its
a good refresh to the bird. Your always welcome back here
and post as much questions as you like! Good luck!

Oh yea, If the bird flies back to the cage immediately, Turn your
body away from the cage quickly & head towards the bathroom.
