Both Hens and Cocks as follows.

21.5% D green violet(sf) /blue
21.5% blue violet(sf)

10.75% D green /blue(T1)
10.75% D green violet(df) /blue
10.75% blue
10.75% blue violet(df)

3.5% D blue violet(sf)
3.5% green violet(sf) /blue

1.75% D blue
1.75% D blue violet(df)
1.75% green /blue
1.75% green violet(df) /blue

D = Dark, and in blue birds (D Blue) that is the cobalt colour.

Single factor and Double factor violet in blue birds are very easy to seperate visually. I am not too sure about DF violet greens however, only seen SF violet greens.

You'll get most violet .. LOL

hmmm.. I might be lucky, but I'll guaranteed that you get 3 violets out of 5 eggs for the both.. I have a Cinnamon Blue cock, violet green/blue hen.. 5 eggs for some reason only 2 fertile ... guess what I got.. 1 Violet, 1 cinnamon Violet hen, that's last season.. Right now the pair are at it again. She's sitting on 5 eggs I believed as of now, for 3 days that I haven't seen her come out. I'm anticipating all hatch this season due to last season I set them up late.. Well good lucks to your pair..=)

Its all luck, but those are the figures that that pair can pump out. You cant guarantee anything in the bird world and below is a prime example of it.

I have had a Turquoise Blue paired with a Blue and in 3 years, they had 11 young. Not a single one was turquoise. It was only in their fourth year that they had any turquoise young.

Also had a friend who bought a split cleartail cock bird to go with a cleartail hen. For the first two years both clutches were just normal looking young and he was furious that he might have been sold a dud, then on the 3rd breeding cycle he threw 3 out of 4 young as cleartails.

One thing I always tell people in breeding, just because its a 50% chance for example, doesnt mean it happens one in every two times for you.

Fah I agree of what you're saying, but my guaranteed is just a figure of speech. I like to give him hope that he'll get a prolific breeding season. Just like my pair, I don't know what I might get this year, but I'm hoping more violet out of them..
