Um, you just have to stop it having unsupervised access to the door...
Flyscreen sure as heck wont even keep some of the smaller birds in, let alone a good chewer like an IRN... would be like cutting through butter.
You basicly have two options, remove access to the flyscreen door OR upgrade the door itself to be more secure than just flyscreen if you cant supervise the bird while it is out and about.
The bird obviously wants to take a cruise outside, so maybe entertain this idea by having a cage outside that it can sit in for a little bit each day. This might calm its desire to get outside a little... failing that... you really dont have many alternatives.
Is the bird bored? It might also be looking at the door as a nice chew toy that also happens to connect to a larger 'room' for it to fly around in
If your bird is capable of full flight (ie; not clipped) your bird should really not have unsupervised access to all areas. Birds are curious things, and I have heard many a tale of birds chewing into electrical cable... with disasterous affects.

I have had this problem too, as Lola would chew through all the flyscreens. But I rarely had the windows open for her to get out on the otherside.
Try and give as much chew toys as possible. If this doesnt work, like my Lola, I was once suggested to spray a 'feather picking spray' on the flyscreens. (its like a very bitter tasting spray for birds, wont even see it on the screens, but it might deter them.) But eventually Lola got tired of flyscreens and moved onto eating the roof, then the blinds.
I know you can watch them like a hawk and pick them up off the screens, but they will still chew something, its not a instant destruction, its more like a gradual picking, until eventually you end up with giant holes in them. lil monsters! lol.
I hope your lil one stops soon.
