head bobbing
hi just a quick question my 7 week old baby irn bobbes its head up and down pretty much every second its out of the cage and sqwaks is this normal

My babies did that when they were going through the weaning process.
Is your baby fully weaned??
Sounds like s/he may be a bit hungry.
If you are not already, you could offer fresh fruit and veg and also try soaked seed and sprouted seed. Also try millet spray. I found mine loved it.
At 7 weeks of age, all this growing up thing is very new to them. It could take awhile for your bird to feed itself properly.

she is 7 weeks old not fully weaned yet i have been feeding fruit she goes absaloutly crazy when she sees it cant wait to devour it. she try's to eat seeds but not quiet their yet. ive had her for a week she also loves millet sprays demolishes them in minutes do you have any tips tips for knowing the right time to stop sryinge feeding.

As each bird is different, I let the bird guide me when they are ready to stop being handfed.
Eventually as your bub eats more and more fruit and seed, s/he will want less and eat less of the formula. S/he will still probablly still "ask" for feeding out of habit, but refuse it when you try. That will be the time to stop.
At 7 weeks and eating other foods, I would weaken the formular with added pureed fruit and veg to the mix. Some people buy baby food and add that. That way your bird is still being fed without depending on the formula.
My birds basically wean themselves around the time they start to fly.
Just when you do stop feeding, keep a very close eye so as the bird doesn't loose to much weight and condition.
Sounds like being weaned is just around the corner.
