Hi there...I have just joined today and am looking forward to gaining lots of info and help from your members.
I live in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
We have 2 king parrots, "Jackie and Fence Post",
2 Princess parrots, "Wilma and Wally",
1 hand raised Regent parrot, "Barry"
and 2 IRN's...."Bonnie", blue hen, and "Clyde", grey/green male.
Bonnie and Clyde are 4 years old, I have had them for about 3 months.
Bonnie has just presented us with 2 eggs over the last 3 days, I am hoping she will have more, as I want to hand raise 2, and leave the rest in the nest for her and Clyde to raise.
I have brought books, and studied lots on the internet, however, any help, comments etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome tucker! :)

Your just down the road from me....I'm in NSW, near the freezing town of Orange

Congrats on the eggs from your ringies.

Mine have also gone down. One pair is sitting on 4 eggs the other on 3. Two more hens are looking interested in the nestbox as well.

Fingers crossed for you with the eggs hatching. :)

Hi everyone...Thanks for the welcome!!!
We now have 5 eggs, the last one laid was on Saturday.
I am starting to prepare for the big event!!
I am looking at the best ideas for a brooder, so far, i have come up with one of those critter carriers...saw it on You Tube. It seems like a great idea. Any views from you guys would be appreciated.
:?: I have a question concerning the ringnecks. I also have a pair of blue princess parrots in the same aviary, all the birds are quite happy together. There is plenty of room in the aviary and there is a good choice of nest boxes. I was told today that the ringnecks may kill the princess babies, can anyone tell me if this is correct? ?
If so, I will need to re house the princesses. They have only just started to get lovey dovey, I believe it will be another month or so before they breed.
I will also post this question in the breeding forum, Thanks guys.
