Evidence at last!!

Post by Lauren »

:D Finally! I've been trying to capture 'Lola' doing her 'thing' for the last few months. I think 'she' likes the humidity in the bathroom when i have showers, so I had to have a shower before, so I could get the shot.
She does the whole 'cooing/clucking' and 'squeeking' at Jibby. 'Lola' demands a dance from Jibby too. Jibby gets backed into a corner until he does a dance for 'Lola'. Its pretty funny to watch.
Videos didnt turn out because the camera kept getting fogged up. Does humidity turn them on? Because they both go into 'lovebug' mode as soon as the shower is turned on??
Not great pics but here 'she' is!! Best I could get..

:D Thanx chickies!
Yah I'm still not 100% we still have a couple of months before s/he is 2 years old. But this is my evidence supporting my vote for female. S/he seems to have a slight ring, but even the girls get a faint ring.

Some more naughty 'Lola'.. always shut your kitchen cuboard doors!! Doesnt help having glass door cabinets, they see the food!

Awww! It'd be funny as if she laid an egg in ur cupboard!!!! Hehe! Lola is a cute name! She certainly does have the female IRN mannerisms down pat!! I still think she has a bit of a ring coming through though!!

 Oh gosh, I didnt even think of why Lolas been obsessed with climbing into cuboards and wardrobes lately!! It didnt even cross my mind. I got them up thismorning and they both flew straight into my wardrobe!! They are both sitting on the wardrobe door right now, 'kissing' and saying 'I love you'. Mind you, Jibby was just excited about the floor length mirror in there lol, Lola was begging for 'smoochies' as usual. Oh dear, if shes a girl shes definately got Jibby wrapped around her lil toe! Demanding lil girl, shes a persistant one.

Oh 'Lola' sometimes looks very boyish with that slight ring, but then comes out with the crazy clucking and 'begging'. Still confused. But excited at the same time. I'm just going to start calling her by 'Lola' so 's/he' gets used to that name, if s/he turns out to be a boy after all this, I can always go back to Yoda (which I dont like anymore doesnt fit the personality, but s/hes used to the name?).

She looks like a girl to me! I have a DNA sexed female, almost the exact same color as Lola. Mine has a slight ring just like Lola's. Can be confusing, so that is why I did DNA. Looks like you have a pair in love. Maybe you'll get a clutch? Exciting!

I have a couple of hens that have a faint ring, it varies with the different colors though.
From the pic in Laurens sig I would definitely say female. Also if you have a look at the pics that Hubby posted in the other thread Lola has the same look as the female that is mating with the male.
