we have a new arrival, jack our indianring neck he is twenty weeks old and as been hand reared,we bought him from our local pet shop today.

we live in queensland australia and my first question is do i keep him inside or outside.

i say this is my first question because we have never kept a bird of any description before, and any general advice will be gratefully accepted.

thank you

Jackthelad,

Congrats on your new bird! :D Keeping your bird indoors or outdoors is completely up to you. I keep my bird Anikin indoors for many reasons. One I think it is better because they are with you, they hear you, see you, and also you will be more prompted to interact with him more if he is indoors with you.

I also think it is a good idea to keep him indoors especially for IRN's because they need a lot of attention and interaction to be tame and friendly. However, if you want to keep him outdoors there is no harm in that as long as there aren't extreme weather conditions or animals that could harm him. Also, birds are messy...so if you keep him indoors keep that in mind! :D Hope this helps! :)
