Hey:

For those of you that are south of me (Tampa) and need to evacuate, let me know if you need somewhere for your bird that is safe.

Of course, shelters DO NOT allow birds.

We are going to be safe here in Tampa. For quarantine reasons, they would be kept in the garage but it too is air conditioned.

Stay safe and please dont hesitate to accept. I just want everyone and everybirdie to be safe.

Yall have came along way! Very proud of you both, remember me telling you one day your baby will let you hold her, I promise! I bet you were like YEAH right

I believe everything one does comes back to them 10-fold, be it good or bad. As I will reap my rewards, others (bitter ex-wives particularly) will pay the ultimate price.

I chose to use my powers for good, not evil *giggle*

The weather is going to deteriorate very quickly between now and Monday here in Florida, even here we are going to have 75 MPH winds, at the least.

Alot of board members live here in Florida. I am worried about them and their feathered friends.

The weather is getting progressively worse.

If all else falls, we have wiresless phones and internet but Im not sure we would be able to get enough signal. Anyone that is leaving should have by now, the bridges are all closed.

I HATE the feeling of being LOCKED IN. But to live on an island there is a price to pay. I wish now we would have left, not scared just rethinking and looking around at all the boys sleeping in the living room together like little puppies. I let them make a fort in the living room last night. Awfully suspicious they always ask to do that when "something" is going on.

They literally sleep together like a box of puppies. Laying all over one another. They look so sweet. I hope Daddy and I made the right decision... the rain is pounding and the wind wont stop making the howling noise.

It is 5 am now, hoping the boys sleep through the worse of it. Surprisingly, my feathered babies havent seemed to notice, although they are sleeping with on eye open, literally.

You can hear wind blowing up and through the roof of the house.

We rode the storm out. Everything and one is fine. Sunny out as if it were labor day.

Floridians are so beat down mentally in regards to hurricanes... enough is enough. Wonder when Beta will hit?

We're in the highest area of pinellas, not even in an evacuation zone. We can also take in birds short-term. Our quarantine is upstairs/downstairs but at least we'll never flood. ^^
And being that we have so much space we can take in large birds as well. I just hope it never comes to that.

I hate to think of any birds drowning in their cages after Katrina.

I remember reading when I was young about a rescue team who came across a dog sitting on top of it's dog house in water up to it's chest. They left the thing CHAINED to the dog house! If the water (which was still rising) had been any higher the poor baby would have drowned. That just always stuck in my mind.

We ourselves have evac plans that include all of our pets. The van would be loaded up with PetTaxis, lol. We have a lot of friends in north florida, georgia, and the carolinas we would go to if we decided to leave. We also have agreements to take a few of our friend's pets if they couldn't.

So make sure you have your plans. We have our back room becoming a safe house when it's boarded up, lol. At least it's connected to the kitchen and bathroom! xDD
