New to the group and new to the IRN world.

Post by wishkah lady »

Hello,
I am new to this group and I am also a new IRN mommy. I have been reading a lot of the material here before I actually signed up for this forum. My name is Pauline and my husband is Shaughn (sounds like Shawn). We live in Western Washington State on the coast in Grays Harbor County. We do have 3 Swedish Blue ducks that are outside pets and we only eat the eggs they lay. They have a very secure house and run and they are treated very well. Spoiled is more like it!

I have had some African Grey parrots when I was younger and I have missed them being part of my life. I was ready to open my home and heart to a feathered baby. My best friend started breeding IRNs and I was able to pick the one that I wanted. I visited my baby each week and held him for a while to start bonding with him.

My baby is named Indy and he is only 2 months old. For ease of typing, I am saying that Indy is a male. I have no clue as to the sex but it really doesn't matter either way. :) He only has been home with us for a week and he has definitely worked his way into our hearts. I am his mommy but my husband does do step ups with Indy so he isn't a complete stranger.

I am disabled and Indy has given me so much in just this past week. He has shown me that life is worth living and has given me a new outlook on life. This is going to be such a wonderful experience and i am looking forward to growing along with him. Even at his young age, he has a personality of a great adventurer, so very curious about everything!

My avatar is a picture of Indy. It is nice to meet everyone.

Image wishkah lady & welcome aboard :) Nice to "meet" you and Indy.

Indy sounds like a real sweetie and bringing you much joy. :)

You were so lucky to have once owned African Greys. They are so expensive here in Australia, anywhere between $4000-$6000 Aussie dollars :? I do hope to be fortunate enough to own one one day.

I have a few birds in my collection, mostly IRNs though. But also have Sun Conures, Rainbow Lorikeets, Galahs, Eclectus and the newest members are cockatiels. So I do have my hands ful between the birds and other animals here.

Looking forward to "watching" Indy growing up and hearing all about him. :D

Awwww, Indy looks like a total sweetie! And I love how your hubby spells his name. Welcome. This a great forum and a great group of people. I've had my IRN since December and I have a house full of other animals. I must say I'm jealous about your ducks. My husband and I are buying a house in December and I've already told him if there aren't any ducklings for me in the Spring I'm divorcing him!
