Lutino's tail feathers ??

Post by BirdLady77 »

Hi

I wasn't sure which part of the forum to go to with this question so I thought I'd try here.
My lutino IRN which I only had 2 weeks, has slight browny/orangy tinged edges, on the tips of his tail feathers, like a thin brown outline on the ends of his tail feathers.

Is this normal or is it a sign there is something wrong with him??

Any help is greatly welcomed!!

Thanks
Kat

Not sure.....kinda looks like dirt or something. I don't know if mites/lice cause that.

yeah it does look like dirt/staining. Does he bathe himself and preen ? does he seem to scratch a lot?

LOL...mystery had been solved....he got the feathers from rubbing or wiping his tail against his red mineral stone perch....I washed his tail and he is a true lutino again...LOL...sorry for the false alarm. Thanks for your help!!!!
Cheers
