I am Jodie. I am originally from Alabama. I currently live in Michigan. I have had all types of pets growing up. I began having an interest in Indian ringnecks about five years ago when an exboyfriend bought a baby from a breeder. He was Kletis. He was just so wonderful and talked very well. Long story short Kletis flew away

About two years ago, I tried finding a Indian Ringneck baby. I searched high and low. What breeders I did find did not have any babies. I stopped in a pet store and found two breeder birds. I named them Tom and Jerri. I was so excited to be a momma! This is when I learned of the many mutation colors since my hen was a lutino. They gave me three green babies that was such an experience. They were great parents and spoiled me into thinking I could actually be a bird breeder! I read as much literature on the web that I could find to help me hand feed and advice. I also had a neighbor who used to breed cockatiels that was an excellant resource. I found my babies good homes and knew they were great babies. They were all affectionate and stepped up everytime from the cage or the perch.
I got every interested in the various colors and the genetics of ringnecks. I decided to invest in more breeder birds that I have recently setup. I have a total of ten Indian Ringnecks along with Sisko my conure. They all seem to be fine together. They have nice oversized cages and drop down nest boxes. They get fresh fruit and broccoli right now. Basically they are spoiled! I hope to get clutches from my newer pairs, but understand if they make me wait. Two of my pairs came from an outside avairy. The other two were inside but in a room with many other birds. I just hope they adjust to their new enviroment. I hope to purchase more variations. I really like the blue buttercup and blue white head white tail mutations. However, I do not have the finances to purchase such birds at this time ( I am a college student for another 1 1/2).
I wanted to comment on how informative this site has been. I have posted questions and offerred responses/advice. It is very nice to have a resource such as this website! Thanks!
