Xmas is here already!

Post by Lauren »

... and Yodas diggin in! This year I thought instead of spending 100 dollars on toys, they can wait until my birthday in Jan, so I spent 100 on food from a parrot rescue in Aus, yes I found a parrot rescue over here! The munchies arrived in the post today. We got Hagen Tropican, Tropimix, and Premium Small Parrot mix. Over 5kgs worth. So it should last them a while with all that! I've seen them around petshops here but thought I'd help the parrot rescue out by buying from them, since it seems so rare to find a parrot rescue down here! They have been on basic seed the last few weeks which I wasn't too crazy about. Of course they get their fruit and veg! but it feels so good to know their enjoying something with added benifits as well as fruit and veg.
Jibby is still hesitant on the new foods and is trying to savour his scraps on the bottom of the cage, just about to change the papers so hes got no choice lol, but Yodas jumped right in and has not wasted a bit yet.
We've tried Tropican once before, after the vet recommended it. Has anyone else tried any of these? They smell yummy! We think they smell like lollies.

OK I did buy 100s in toys lol. I got him a play stand and some hanging toys and some foot toys and some. Well practically 2 of everything lol. With his personality if I wrap them he will spend more time on the paper. We just got Charli so we actually dont have many toys yet. I told hubby at the rate im shopping we will need a toy box the size of texas. Like I told hubby he will be around for 30 years thats longer than we will let the kids stay lol. I just want a happy well adjusted never bored bird. He actually spends little time in his cage.
