Bone exposed

My ringneck has some bone exposed at the top of his wing. Its very noticable when he has a shower. It occasionally bleeds if he knocks it. Is this a birth defect or would it have been caused by an accident. He had it before we bought him 2 months ago but we didn't notice til his first shower.

Oh my, I would take him to an avian vet right away. It might of been caused by an injury, you never know. Bleeding is no good!

How is your baby doing? Any open wound is worrisome -- hope all goes well & the vet gives your little one something to ease the discomfort

Just came back from the vet. It turns out that its not bone. Its a growth, and becuase it is on a joint it will be dangerous to do anything. The vet said it is best untreated unless it gets significantly bigger.
