How much is too much?

Post by nichole123 »

My little guy gets fruits and veggies every day but I am wondering if I should portion it better for him? He gets apple, orange, broccoli, and carrots every morning and sometimes I sneak in a strawberry or something special but is this too much? Should I just give him one different thing every day or give him a 'salad' as I am doing now? And also, how much seed should I allow him? He is on Zupreem pellets and I mix in some (about a tablespoon) safflower parrot food every day. What do you feed your birds on a daily basis?

I'm hardly an expert, but I tend to think that variety is good. I do that with my birds. They eat what they want and seem to be happy having lots of different fruits and veggies. I do try to introduce new stuff also, so that they aren't eating the same old thing every day. I also feed seeds and pellets for the same reason and he seems to eat both very well. He gets very impatient in the morning waiting for his veggies so as long as he's happy, I'm happy.

Amazon always has seed in his bowl, but during the day he will get veggies or fruit and at night he will get whatever im eatting he loves chicken.

Then again my baby is spoilt to the max, he never gets the same thing twice in a week normally.
