Hello everyone,
I'm wondering what it means when my Byndi fluffs up his feathers?? I've heard that means they're happy and I've heard that means they're trying to tell you they're bigger than you cuz they're intimidated. So which is it? I can be talking very softly to my Byndi and he'll be just sitting on his perch and fluffs up and then he'll start preening. He doesn't look aggressive. So I don't know if that's an aggressive behavior or not. Just wondering if anyone can let me know.
Thanks you two! You have no idea how good that makes me feel. I could cry right now. Cuz he fluffs up when I'm talking softly to him and a lot of times he starts grooming his tail feathers and wings while I'm by his cage. So I must be making some kind of progress! He is also letting me rest my hand on the front of the cage door, with my fingers INSIDE the cage when I'm holding a grape. And boy you can just tell he wants sooooo badly to come down and get that grape. But he isn't there yet. Bet we'll get there. I just know it! Thank you both for all of your help with my Byndi!
If he is preening near you, he feels ALOT safer. Much better than fluttering around trying to kill himself, huh? Within a month, he'll be sitting on your finger enjoying treats!

Ditto.
I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
Hate to disagree with you all, but when PeeGee is fluffed, look out, she is pissed off. When her feathers are smooth, it means she is calm and nice.
Ruffled feathers means don't mess with her right now.
