Help, Curling Nails?
This morning I noticed Yodas front nails seem to have grown ALOT in the last few days and look very long. They look like they are curling! Yoda has many different perches and sizes to keep them trim. I'm going to have to take another vet trip I think. I'm getting worried.
Is this normal for a 6 month old? Should I be worried?

when was the last time his nails were trimmed? i've noticed that peanut's flight feathers and nails have grown a lot the last few months. i've had to take him in every month to get him trimmed up. maybe they have growth spurts? peanut also has lots of pearches which are different sizes and textures, but they do not seem to be working very well. they're growing boys! got ta love em! he he.
We havnt had Yodas nails trimmed yet because they wernt long at all. But have shot out in the last few days. I can't really afford to go to the vet every month at the moment. But we will just have to find a way.
I can see the blood supply in his nails clearly because he has clear nails. The blood supply seems to be long aswell.
They sure are growing lil vegimites! hehe. Its amazing how fast the lil buggas grow!
Oh almost forgot. The fids are on new pellets recently. Passwells, I think its an Aussie company. Could it maybe be the boost in vitamins?
I get so worried sometimes. As soon as I notice a difference in the fids I automatically think the worst.

No need to panic. The blood supply inside the nails is called a quick and they are alnost as long as the nail. If you take him to the vet they will only cut just a small tip of the nail. You could probably do this yourself with a pair of nail clippers you use on your fingernails. If you happen to cut one to where it bleeds put a little cornstarch or bakingsoda on the tip.

P.S. better for the bird if you wrap him in a towel first.

Thanks girls.
I don't think I'm game enough to clip Yodas nails. Was hard enough trying to clip his wings. He put up a big fight even with a towel over him. Then gave mum, my partner and I nasty bites. Just to 'stick it' to us! My knuckle even went blue for a day he bit me that hard! Was the first forceful bite Ive got from Yoda. My partner had nothing to do with the clipping but Yoda bit him anyway just incase!
I'll let Yoda attack the vet, not me.
Thanx for the tips.
