Dark eyes

Hi all,
Just a quick question... I have a 4 month old grey/green ringneck (named Pounamu) and it has quite dark eyes and is really hard to see if s/he is pinning them or not. Is this just because s/he is young or will they always be quite dark?

I believe every birds eyes are different. My Jibbys iris is pale blue and Yodas is a dark blue. Yoda seems to 'flash' his eyes where as Jibby pins for a long time.

Ringnecks start off with very dark eyes but as they mature they develop into more humanlike eyes with defined iris and pupil... enjoy it while it lasts, Pounamu will grow up all too soon :wink:
