Till when will the bluffing go on ??

I had My IRN for a year now and she seems to not got over the bluffing stage yet....its bin a year now...is this normal ??

i act very normal with her i talk to her normally and hand feed her too...

but when its my hand alone...the biting starts lol...

and She Keeps on doing those little cry voices and sometimes goes mad and start doing really loud voices lol...

Not sure of the correct answer there, sorry but I think it varies with the bird but if it's gone on a year I'd say it's an established behavior pattern and not just bluffing.

Any experts out there with a better answer?

I agree, this is established behavior, at this point.

However, you mentioned to me in private that she didnt look so well. I need to see a pic. I cant, with good conscious, sit here and tell you, 'its just how she is'.

It could be a health problem. Need pics.

Do you ever see her tremble and puffed up?

What would it mean if she did this? I have a 1 yr old male IRN, and he's done that before.

It usually means they are:

A: Stressed; Freaked out, scared. New environment, for example.

B: Not feeling well, if it goes on for any amount of time or is with sneezing or runny nose... vet time for sure.

C: Poor cage placement. They shouldnt be anywhere near vents. They like it toasty. :wink:

He may be just scared. . . i mean i just bought a year old lorikeet - he is immaculate in presentation - when he is afraid he bobs and cries and puffs feathers. I know i can tame him outa this, you shouldn't worry, if he's healthy then scared behaviour can be tamed out by socialisation. in that case go to the thread about taming - below or above - the new one.
