I think it comes with the wings when they're born

My Nila and Priya both have wings clipped but will both fly down for a walk about or to find me if i'm out of sight. It's good for them to flap their wings daily for cardiovascular health. But safer if they stay on the perch to do so. How to keep them on a perch uh......

Anybody been successful keeping their ringneck on a perch if they decide thye want to be somewhere else?

George can get some good airtime even with freshly clipped wings. He is a climber though and I have watched him climb down the side of his cage down his ladder to the floor walk to the couch and climb it. He is so funny because he goes down the side of his cage face first and he walks, so it looks weird. Imagine a bird walking on flat ground that’s what he looks like only tilted 90 degrees. I try to get pics of him but the camera is his arch rival as soon as he hears the noise it makes when you turn it on he goes strait for a perch to hide on or flutters away and The flash scares the bageebers out of him.
He also likes to hang upside down from the rope that goes from one cage to the other.

If it has been flighted for awhile, it's flying musles will be really strong.... this will also allow them to get off the ground. It too depends on how their cut. At the petstore we cut them down to the secondary feathers. Birds usually can get a goo amount os air this way. At the bird specialty store I get Fiona clipped at they cut them much much shorter (they know what they're doing, I don't know this technique). Fiona can only get about two or three feet off the ground, but immediatly falls (her muscles are also pretty developed), whereas when she was at the petstore she could get up and glide about 6-8 feet.

Prinny knows how to fly and even with the severe cut I have to give her she can still get some air and glide pretty darn well.

Sunni falls like a ton of bricks...

Not a problem! I am also thankful that it is 75 at five at night....can't believe I ever left California (don't think I will make that mistake again). Also glad Ms. Magellan (until proven otherwise) seems to be growing up--tail feathers and behavior! Just don't tell the fids what we are cooking. . . .

We love you Rena... caps and all.

My Mama is learning to use the computer. I sometimes forget we arent born with one and for that Im sorry for not 'being sweeter' about the caps thing.

Sweet isnt really my deal though, more of a 'to the point, lets get it done' type. Sweetness wastes time which society has taught us women must spend... otherwise we are bitches.

Might be a bitch but this bitch doesnt waste time. hehe

In America, a strong woman is a bitch.

A woman that wont sleep with you is a slut.

Yet, the person you go to when you need someone more than anything is your mother, a woman. Figure that one out, make me understand it and then I will buy into societies ideologies as to why us 'ladies must be sweet and act accordingly'.

Not in Mikaela's world. Not now. Not ever. Being sweet gets you kicked in the teeth for fools mistake that kindness for weakness. I have never followed societies 'rules' for 'ladies' and I am quite successful. I would love see she other woman grow a set.

Or use the set you have, should you possess it. Dont fear strength... you were programmed to believe strength in woman equals meanness.

Open your mind, step outside of societies standards and walk your own path. Not the one laid out for you.

I really believed we all knew better. I have asked my mama to google 'internet etiquette' and read what IS and IS NOT acceptable. She did, it helped her a lot and she is now a lot more comfortable online! :D

Caps means either anger or emphasis, as I just showed above.
