Relocating Cricket

Post by CricketsMum »

Hi everyone.

I always used to have the tiels on the verandah with my IRN Cricket within seeing distance. Everyone was pretty happy. WELL.... I thought I'd do a favour to my tiels and brought a large flight aviary which I put out the back and Cricket suddenly became very noisy. Calling calling with the tiels calling back. So i FINALLY jigged! I put Cricket next to the tiels outside, and the calling stopped. Can you believe it? How stupid we humans can be sometimes - it took me ages to figure it out.

Only problem being, it's the start of the build up (that's the wet season) and last night it absolutely bucketed down. I had to get up, get drenched, and put him back under the verandah.... I really need to figure out a cover for poor Cricket  Cheers everyone.... love all the posts.

If the flight aviary is big enough, you could move cricket's cage in there. That way it'd be covered and he'd be nice and close to the 'tiels.

Ah but you figured it out instead of trying to just quiet the bird down.
You'll figure out how to make them all happy.
You are a good parront!! :D

Well, I know one thing... to Baby, a day without Peaches is no day for him!

Peaches isnt my bird, I dont even have to feed her. He even does that. Odd relationship between those two.

Baby either would be a GREAT daddy or he goes way above and beyond what he needs to do. He does everything for her. Take her from him and he calls frantically as you are walking away.

Does he see her as a mate?

A friend?

A pet, his?

Didnt mean to hi-jack. Just wanted to add my ringneck too is extremely attached to my tiel.

It's all figured out. I put a big sun umbrella over him and over 1/2 the aviary, and they are soooo happy :) . I put a plunger (one to clear your drains etc) and stuck it in the shower so Cricket doesn't scratch the crap out of me when we're having a shower, and he didn't know what to do with it.... very scared little IRN. So we're taking it easy with new things

Have a great weekend you all.
