it really depends on the individual bird, my male IRN gets along with anything and the female hates everything including her own species. I'd be very careful with a smaller bird, much supervision and never leave them alone together if you do decide to do it
HI,
I would never leave them alone. The thing is the breeder that I got my Irn from, is the one I want to get the parrotlet from. He puts different species together when they are young. It seems to work for him. He seems to think they should be ok to play together. I won't house them together of coarse.
just make sure before you let them out together, that you have their cages near each other so they can see one another, and slowly introduce them that way.
You never can be too careful though especially with smaller vs bigger bird! Good luck with them
HI,
That's what I'll do, introduce them to each other slowly. By the way, does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of fleas in a house with birds? My sister has a pair of finches and her dog got fleas from outside, now they are in the house and her finches are on eggs, she doesn't want to move them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
eek fleas are never fun!! when we had fleas from the neighbours apartment, we bombed the place, but we had to move the birds out for awhile, that was the only solution that we came up with! the birds stayed at a friend's house and then we had to clean everything after bombing just to make sure it was safe for the birds to return! good luck with the flea situation!
