Hello From Tennessee!

Post by Cubmom »

Thought I would introduce myself (as I will probably be on asking lots of questions). I am now the proud owner of a baby IRN. We have other birds here at my house (African Gray - Plato, 2 cockatiels -Dumbledore and Hissy, Jenday Conure - Buddy and a Sun Conure (maybe - I think she is a mix) Chloe.

Anyway, have only had the baby since yesterday and am handfeeding him, which is the first time I have done this. I am now trying to get as much info as possible (backwards I know, but the guy at the petshop convinced me it was so easy). He seems to be eating pretty good and is active. I will post some pics later today.

First question is this, they gave me formula and told me how to mix it (1 part formula to 2 parts water to a consistency of pudding), do I also give him water? He said no, but just wanted to make sure.

So thats it, as I said before I am sure I will be on a lot. Thanks!

Welcome to the wonderful world devoted to IRN's!!!!

We are a great family and so glad to have you join. Please, post any and all pics or questions! Thats what we're here for!

The 'search' feature at the top is great too for topics that have already been discussed (everything under the sun).

Welcome to our family. What a beautiful !! baby .. so brave of you to take on such a job but what a special bond it will form with you and your fid. And what a bright and beautiful place for your sun conures to live.

I don't know about the water, but someone who does will be along soon, if you can't find anything in the search index it wouldnt hurt to post the question in the breeding, diet and housing and miscelaneous forums aswell

.. some members like Jeremy our resident breeder and genetic advisor rarely visits other forums than the breeding forum. It would pay you to pm him also :D

Cheers!
