Hello
I am new to the forum and there are so many posts to go through I can't really find the answer I need. So I apologize if I am duplicating a question.
I owned a ringneck as a teenager and I really want to get one again, I have found a few breeders but now the question I need answered, can I get only 1 bird, or is unfair for it to be alone? I am home 80% of the day, so it will have attention most of the time, or should I get 2.
If I get 2 do they need their own cages? Can they be housed together? Whats the possibility of them fighting?
Essentially I would prefer to get one, but I like to be fair to my animals.
Thank you
Nikki

Re: 1 or 2 Indian ringnecks
One of the best attributes of an IRN is it's independence, they are happy with their own company and, with a toy or two, can happily keep themselves occupied. I know I can go out on a day excursion once a year without coming home to my bird sitting on a pile of plucked feathers.
As long as you get the bonding and trust in place, your bird will happily wait, And welcome you when you get back.
