Hello

Post by parrotman »

Hello everyone, My name is Sam. 1st of all I would like to say that this is the great web site and the only web site that has sooooooooo much info on the ringnecks. I had a Green Indian ring neck, but he lives with my brother in-law. We had to live with them for 8 months cause myu hose was not ready to move in. Anyways, Yoda is his name. When I got him, he was only about 3 months old. It took him a few days to settle in. Once he did, he started to pin his eyes and tryed to bit me every time I tryed to pick him up. Its was getting frustating. I called the breeder and she said that just try to be patient with him and keep trying. Well, the next day I took him out of his cage even though he TRYED to bit me and started to pet him. He kept flying way from me and I just kept picking him up and petting him. I did this for 2 days and he stopped flying and jsut sat on my lap. But he was still pining his eyes. As soon as he settle down, I strated to give him treats. His bitting tured in to just taking my finger in his beak and VERY lightly pressing his beak on the finger and puching it way every time he wanted to be left alone. This was getting to be great. Every now and than he would try to bit me and I would just picking him up keep. As sson as he would try to puch my finger away gently I would let him be. So you see folk, Indian Ring Necks are very smart Birds. I jsut thought that I would share this with all the Ring Neck Lovers. I am going to pick up my baby in 4 weeks, anothet Green IRN. So guys don't let them discourage you from loving them.
