New to IndianRingNeck

Post by madmax75 »

Hi,

I'm Sudhir from Bangalore, India. I have a lot of questions about IRN, with the hope of find solutions I'm posting them here.
1. Can we have IRN as a pet? Do we have to register it in some organisation or elsewhere in India?
2. How do to train an IRN? Is there an training guides available in India?

More questions once I recieve responses for these...

Cheers,
Sudhir

I would imagine you could keep them in India. They are common creatures out there. Just make sure they are not taken from their habitat and look for a reliable breeder. Wild ringnecks can carry many diseases and do not make good pets. Plus, trapping parrots is sad and buying a parrot from a trapper would only support them.

About talking. Ringnecks are very good at learning tricks and talking. I’ll give you a website with training information. It’s called clicker training. If you don’t want to use that method, then search here for taming ringnecks. That should get you going.

Good luck on your ringneck research and I commend you for doing research before diving into a long commitment.

Best wishes,
