pics of my new new boy

Post by surferdon »

well as promised here are some pics of my new boy and some of my baby dude! As you can see because of the stress he was going through at the pet store (which is why i got him)his plumage has been picked out. Does any one know good ways to help the plumage grow back? Also how long would it take for the plumage to grow back? well enjoy

You know, i'm a sucker for the injured or not as good looking animals!!! I have a goose with one eye and a cow missing a tail, i had a sheep my husband rescued from a halal butcher and i have been told i can have deformed budgies from a friend of ours (he just puts them down).

Anyway, what i'm getting at is, that i think your new bird is gorgeous. Very quirky, a great punk look. Don't worry though, those feathers will grow back soon with no work necessary by you....unless he's plucking them himself. In that case, try putting some vaseline on the plucked areas and he won't touch them and they'll grow out.

yeah i think that he was plucking them himself because he was being harassed by my dudes brothers and sisters. the birds would gang up on him since they were albino and he is green. Also his temperment is so sweet. It is weird because i was going to get him when i was looking at my current IRN but was told that for sure he was a girl and i wanted a boy (because i am surrounded by girls at home  ) and of course the ring. So what strikes me as odd is that i got my bird DUDE 5 months old in october and this new bird has been hadled maybe 3 minutes a week and he is still tame. Way less aggressive than my dude. She bites hard at night! Thank you for the advice for vasiline i will try it if they dont grow back! How long is it really though for feathers to grow back, a week month 1/2 a year or do i have to wait for the next moult?

He is darling! Or she is darling! Bless your heart for saving her! Poor thing! I'm so happy to hear she's tame!

aww he is so cute ! .. I am so glad you rescued him.

I had a goose with one eye too, called Goswald !

.. and a chicken called FangStrangle, purely because it was so mottly it looked like it would get caught in ya teeth if you ever decided you wanted to try to eat it. We had a minifarm in a suburban block when I was growing up.
