Aggression

Post by jen5239 »

Remmi is being very aggressive towards Byndi. Anyone got a clue why he might all of a sudden be doing this? Man they have literally locked beaks recently. And yesterday she climbed off her cage and climbed up my arm to my shoulder and was just chillin. So Fly Boy decides he wants to come chill with us. So he flies to my chair and is hangin on the arm. I'm studying for a huge test I have on Tues. not paying a lot of attention. Then they start screaming and lunging at each other and Byndi nails me on the arm going for Remmi. Yeee-OUCH! Man did it hurt! Still have the mark on my fore arm! I can't figure out why all of a sudden he is being such a punk. And I don't have the luxury of moving them away from each other as my house is ever so tiny! So any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hugs,
Jen

Unless he is REALLY going for her, like for her feet for example, you need to give her a chance to stand her ground.

My little 'tiels finally broke Baby. Its ok to beak fight, thats how they earn respect. Just make sure he isnt going for her feet. That means he absolutely intends to hurt her.

And she could lose a toe. But give her a chance to earn his repect... she'll get sick of it and get him one good time and that'll be it.

Exactly what Mik said. If they ever go for the feet it means something serious but if they are just having it out beaking it's pretty much just trying to establish who is dominant. I have a feeling it's gonna be Byndi...

Ok, thanks! I did not know this! They sure are going beak to beak big time. I'll let them go at each other then. Cuz Remmi is being such a punk! Starting it all the time. She's just hanging out on her perch on the outside of her cage and he will climb to that side of his cage and lunge at her. Little brat! So I'll keep my eye on them and let them have at it if there isn't any toe action. He's even flying over to the play ground when she's on it. Trying to start stuff. It's driving me insane. But Sat. is our trip to the vet.... WING CLIPPING! WOO HOO.

Thats the whole reason I leave Buddy flighted .... to prevent Mazzie from hurting him.

You should see her little yellow butt running hell bent on biting his face off. He laughs at her now, but it used to frighten him.

Ringnecks are such boogers.

I dont know if its just Baby's nature or ringnecks in general but Baby always picks on the 'new bird'. She beak fights to the death but I'll tell ya... those 'tiels stand their ground!

Both of my tiels have beak fought Baby until she just got tired of it and stopped. Not to say she doesnt antagonize them, she does.

She loves them because they keep her company and play with her but she resents them very VERY much when it comes to me. I have to put her away to play with the tiels or she steals all of the attention with negative behavior.

I have to bring her inside before she sees me interact with the tiels or she contact calls like her foot is hung in a car door.

Such a spoiled ho. Still bluffing too so I havent much nice to say about her, at the moment.

Grrr.... HIM

hehehe Baby is such a terror! I dunno about true bluffing since Prinny is about that age to start that but she hasn't. Don't know if she will...we're pretty set in our rules here. I think it helps that she is an only bird...and spoiled rotten.

Let us know how things go Jen...since I still think our little Bindy bird is going to beat the crud out of Flyboy. :D

Boy Dani you were right! I let them go at it til I couldn't take it anymore! Byndi NAILED Remmi GOOD. He screamed. She got him on his back or tail. Couldn't tell. I got nailed in the process of separating them too. Remmi settled down for a bit. But then right back at her. This ones going to take a while! I think my little Remmi is a little hard headed. But boy were they locking beaks big time. It scared me. So I'm going to avoid it at all costs, but if they manage to go at it then I'll let them go unless it gets out of hand. :?
