bringing baby home

Post by bobbisox41 »

hi everyone...................just an update....baby is coming home this Friday and I am just busting at the seams with happiness.....it has been a very long and very quiet month since Kiwi died and the silence in the house is too much for me to take....... now baby will bring a lot of joy and happiness not to mention alot of noise too :D .......................he is just 10 weeks old and this is very strange...or unless it is all just coincidence....... my friend at the shop told me to count back 10 weeks for his hatch date......well i did and what a surprise I got. now...... your are going to think I am crazy..... it turned out to be February 6th.......that is the date on which my mom passed away five years ago........ I am very overwhelmed by this...............this bird was definitly destined to be mine.............will post more updates later.....hugs to all

hi all....well he's home.. :D ......he is the sweetest......he is a real eating machine......always eating.................had to borrow a loaner cage from store...my cage has not come in yet, should have that this Thursday...but he is all over the place...bought him a playpen and he sits there so nice and behaved but then again he has only been here a day and a half.......hehehe................girl at store told me to make him a scrambled egg with the shell crushed up, so that is what he had this morning and he seemed to be ok with it, didn't eat the whole thing though...most of it went out the side of the cage and the dog got it..........I just can't take my eyes off him ..it is like when you bring a new baby home from the hospital and you just stand there watching it sleep....I don't know how I am going to part myself from him tomorrow when I go back to work.....he won't see his mommy for 5 hours :( ....I think it will bother me more then him......now that I have him home....I will have to take pictures and you will have to let me know how I post them so you all can see him.......see you all soon......hugs from new baby ANDY

good morning everyone...............it's been a few days since i have been here....hope all is fine.....i have a bit of a delima....I now have baby Andy home ( yes Andy, no more jelly bean)......we are both adjusting just fine...my delima is the size of the cage he should be in..............he was in a loaner cage from the store until my cage came in and the store cage was a 23x15 and I thought that was large enough.............well the girl at the store told me no, was not good for him and she talked me into buying a 24x24x63....this thing is hugeville.....he looks lost in it poor baby not to mention that I don't really have the space for something that size.....it definitly looks out of place............i need help, some input.....help, help, help...........when I had kiwi he was in an 18x18 and had plenty of room....i appreciate any sugestions and all input..thanks all......have a great day and talk to you soon......hugs

Pics asap!!! The cage sounds a little big but he will get over the size and will probably use it all! As long as the bar spacing is not more than 5/8 of an inch wide you should be fine
