Finally talking!
My Lutino Ringneck, Paddy, has finally said his first word! My partner has a younger sister, age 6, called Laura. We moved house last week, so left Paddy with his family for the day while we got settled in. When we brought him home that night, his mum told us that he was saying what sounded like 'Laura'. We were a bit sceptical at first, but then we actually heard him say it, loud and clear! We don't know if Laura taught him to say it by repeating it over and over, or whether he just picked it up from hearing other people say it (he has a large family!) He can also make the same noise as our phone ringing and copies if you whistle to him! We are so proud!

Congrats!!!
How exciting!
I know how excited I was when my IRN uttered his first word. I was so pleased.
Nice job and give your IRN a nice big treat for me. To kick his vocabulary up, start with another word. But first practice “Laura” with him until it’s nice and clear.
Get ready cause your ringneck should pick up words faster and faster.
What age is he/she?
Best wishes and keep us updated!

Paddy was a year old at the beginning of May, but we have had him since the end of July last year. He was hand reared and very vicious when we first got him, but something clicked in him a few months ago, and now he adores us! He's very cheeky, and we have to put him away in his cage while we are eating, otherwise he flies over to try and steal our food! I was never a 'bird' person until we were offered him as a pet, and now I would have nothing else!
