HI to everybody

Post by wave_ride »

Hi,
I am Tom and I am from greece. I am already owner of a male ringneck about 2 yrs old. I bought him 6 months ago from a filthy petshop because i was feeling sorry about him. He is not tammed but he is very healthy with me taking care of him and i think he is happier now. Unfortunately i think is very difficult for me to succed having him one day on my hand or eating from my hand.

Hello and greetings. With these birds all it takes is time...sometimes more than not it takes years! Patience and questions...ask away

We love pics too

Welcome to our ever growing family Tom.

Yep , time and interaction , slowly slowly one step at a time.

First step is trust and getting him to take a treat, then stepping up. Once you get that happening, progress picks up a bit. My kai (got him as an older bird) is getting tamer and tamer all the time, but it has taken 7 months for total trust.

Interact, talk, love and the rest will follow.

As Dani said ask away. Ask us anything, no matter how trivial or silly you think it is. If you want to ask .. ask !

Good lucky mate!

Hey Tom!

Play with and handle that new baby a LOT in front of your not-so-tame IRN and see if he starts to want to get in on the action.

I know that Busey ALWAYS wants what you have and ALWAYS wants attention if he sees the cat getting some, so maybe that will help with getting your guy more used to you!
