Greetings from KL, Malaysia! Love, Lola

Post by lolamorrie »

Hi guys! I've been scrolling through this website since I've got my first ringneck which was 5 months ago and I can't thank this website enough for all the info/tips it has given us!

We got our ringneck when he was just 2 weeks old. We could tell it's a he now at the age of 5 months+ because we can see his ring slowly showing now. He is loving and very affectionate towards us and wants a whole lot of attentions! He started wolf whistling when he was only 3 months old, it's impossible for him to pick up words though, he doesn't seem to be interested in repeated words. But as soon as we whistle, he turns his head right at us and starts whistling back. We adopted another ringneck when Lola was 4months old. We named him Bleu. Bleu didn't get along very well with Lola and often attacked him, but Lola has never gave up on trying to get Bleu's attention/play with Bleu. Unfortunately, Bleu flew away as we don't clip his wings ( not very friendly with us and often attack us/eyes dilate/feathers puff when we get near him ). Lola spends his morning and night crying out for Bleu.

As I've read on the forum that some people disagree that Indian Ringnecks are not ideal for pets, they're definitely wrong! I guess as long as you've hand fed your ringneck when it's really young, it'll learn to understand that it's a part of the family. I'm so grateful for this website and looking forward to read more forum from other ringneck owners.

P.S// Lola whistles hi ;) xx
