Hello!
I am the proud owner of a young blue IRN named "Piper". Piper is @35-38 days old, and came home from the breeder 4 days ago. So far Piper eats like a champ, both formula, and little bits of fruit from my fingers. I feel that everything is on track, and Piper will relax in a towel on my chest for long periods of time letting me snuggle and scratch and talk.
Here's the concern, so far Piper pretty much wants to hide all of the time, whether being held or not. Head is always down in the towel, or hidden in the box, and Piper only comes up for feeding time with much gusto.
My question is, is this natural for this age? Anything I should be concerned about, or just continue on as we've been? Just introduced Piper to the cage this morning, with ample warm hiding area to try and create more situations to get used to brighter light, sound, etc.
Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Welcome, but l am not much help, have you considered what sort of lighting is causing her to hide her head. Billie my bird likes to hide under my hand and also under newspapers in her cage so l think it is normal.
