Hello from Australia

Post by Maria94 »

Hi, today I got my first baby indian ringneck. He has just been fully weaned last week. I brought him home and put him in his cage, but he seems really shy and quiet. I know he needs to be settled in, but I'm hoping he will start eating when he is hungry. Because I picked him up late he was falling asleep while I was sitting by the cage, so I covered him for the night and will check on him late on tonight. If there is any tips or advice you can give me for the first couple days then that would be great.

ps. If anyone has any suggestions for names that would be great also, he is a blue IRN.

Welcome to the forum. I'm in Australia too.
Congrats on your new baby. He might take a few days to settle in properly and feel comfortable in his new house.

Thank you both. He started eating fruit but he hasn't been interested in venturing over to the other side of his cage to drink water or eat seeds but he will take them if I give them to him. I do have a photo but will have to post more first. He also has a slight bald patch under his chin, is that normal?

Have you chosen a name? Coming up with names is so tricky.
