Baby ringneck not opening one eye? Help!
As of yesterday, my baby IRN has almost completely stopped opening his right eye, except when eating. I can't see anything wrong with the eye. Is it just a phase he's passing through or could it be more serious? Please help!

Mixed species aviary?
Hello guys, I currently have a 2 week old IRN. He (or she, we'll just have to wait and see :) ) is the fuzziest and cutest thing, and just loves snuggling in my fingers! Anyways, my friend has quite a few cockatiels, and a pair of them laid eggs. He doesn't have any more space for them, and he put t...

Re: PLEASE HELP ME CLARIFY IF MY BABY IS A BOY OR GAL 2.5YRS
Hi Glamorli. I think that by now, if there's no reddish/rosy line along with the black line around its neck, it's probably a female. 2 and a half years means it is an old juvie or a young adult, so yeah. Its relationship with other birds depends a lot on its personality. Sometimes, males will fight ...

Re: my indian ringneck won't eat....help!!!
Did you try tube feeding? I don't especially like it, but my baby bird refused to eat food when I bought him (or maybe he was confused, I dunno) so I had to use tube feeding. I wouldn't call it force feeding, because they don't struggle or squawk or anything, but I only use it as a last resort since...

Re: Hand-Feeding and Weaning
I tried cup feeding my baby IRN, but he absolutely refuses to eat it. Finger feeding doesn't work either. He had gone without food for almost a day so I decided to tube feed him. It feels sad every time I do it, I dunno if he gets distressed when feeding him like that, but he just refuses to eat. I ...

Re: Raw meat
I wouldn't be comfortable giving meat to my birds. They don't eat any in the wild (except maybe insects), so I highly doubt that they'd be able to properly digest all of it.
They might also get worms.

Very informative, thanks
I'd heard that avocado was no good for sparrows and mynahs as it could be toxic; does the same apply to IRNs?

How to remove crusted poop from my baby ringneck's leg?
I just bought a baby ringneck a few days back. It's my second time with baby birds, the first being with sparrows I rescued from some local kids. The thing is, he poops a LOT  . And while that may not be a problem, his poop gets stuck to the matting (currently I use jade strings), and it then c...
