Barry saying his first words
Blue Barry has learned his first human words, Peek A Boo! His favorite game, he sticks his neck up and says Peek then puts his head down and says A Boo! So cute.

I make loads of home made toys, hobby lobby is great! You can find the little cardboard boxes with removable kids for a dollar. Drill a hole for your hemp twine, stuff the box with shredables and a treat, he loves it. I found wire tying a basket to the inside of the cage with door toys attached to t...

Hi! Sorry to hear you are going through the same a's me. I too feel like a bad parent who selfishly made a purchase knowing that I do work a lot of hours and have a busy life. Good for you! That's what this forum is for right? I'm so happy that your birdie is doing well. I kinda wished I had bought mine a little younger, but the breeder wouldn't let me take him till he was fully weaned. Lucky for you you had the time to hand feed your baby. Please keep us updated. It sounds stupid, but I HATE seeing birds in petshops. I go home and worry about the birds. I will return to the shop several times to see if they have been bought, if they have toys, etc. It's kind of silly.

Update on my blue Barry bird
Well, it's been 2 months since I've brought Barry home, and it is still a learning experience for both of us. Thank you. He will take food from my hands, he snatches it if he's in the cage. If he's on top of the cage I can hold a price of fruit and he will sit there and nibble it. how to overcome cage aggression
I have read many posts on here that say it is best if your bird comes in & out of cage only when owner takes it out. Please give me some insight on how to do this when you have a bird that is very cage aggressive. I would love for mine to step up inside the cage, but when I put my hands in his c...

I am very new to this too, but because of the helpful people on this sight, I have learned to get him away from, and out of sight of his cage when I want to handle him. I used gloves at first. But once you get him away from his cage he may act scared at first but he will eventually settle down. Now ...

Barry is my first bird, got him in July, he was hatched in march. He is losing a lot of little downy feathers, no big ones. His feathers on his head look really rough and he looks like he is blue and white patchy. I know the pics aren't that great, he won't stay still! But could someone tell me if t...

Wow. I'm pretty sure mine has started the bluffing :( either that or he just hates me!! Is that what a normal molt looks like? I'...

I found a site. Parrotenrichment. Com shows how to make some great and cheap toys, I make food toys with hemp rope to hang with things like carrots, Melba toast, dried peppers and whole grain noodles, keeps him busy and he loves em. I too try to make homemade toys since they get destroyed so quickly.
