Cleaning Cage & Bird Area
Cleaning up my birds cage as well as the area around it can be quite a pain. I don't want to use chemical cleaners, although just using soap, water and a scrub pad takes a decent amount of muscle to get everything nice and clean. I also don't have any good place to rinse off the larger parts of the ...

Re: Keeping two IRNs separated
Were your birds raised by humans or by their parents? My gut feel is if they were and raised you have a pretty god chance of taming them. Ellie. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure if they were hand raised or not. The person I had obtained them from were not the original owners and they had not kno...

Re: Keeping two IRNs separated
I appreciate your advice in this situation. I agree what they are doing is normal, so I don't consider it bad behavior or anything like that. I'm just a bit concerned that the situation might be making it a bit difficult to get them socialized. So if I get you right, your saying that, it will be mor...

Keeping two IRNs separated
I have two indian ringnecks at a little less then a year old. They are tame, but not really socialized/trained. My main issue at the moment is that I can't keep them separated. They both have different cages in different parts of the house that they will sleep in, but once it becomes morning they wi...

Re: start to have the ring formation
I'm no expert on the mater, but I might be able to help. I got my ringnecks around 9 months old, at that point the male already had a darker ring the lower neck. The ring then and now is still very light, but there none the less.

Half-Broken Bloodfeather
Today I found that my little girl had broken a blood feather. I discovered this after it already had ended up scabbing over, so part of the feather is still in her wing but she has stopped bleeding. At this point, should I pull the feather and risk further trama, or just leave the feather in?

Re: Need Help... Anti-Social Behavior, Biting, general quest
Welcome to the forums! I've only been around here for a few weeks, but there is a lot of good information and hopefully something will help. "However, the male already has is ring which I understand doesn't show up until like 2 years? Is this correct." Correct, the ring on males show up ab...

Re: New to Ringnecks
Thanks for the advice, I've appreciated the advice and anything I can learn about these guys. My original intention was only to get one, though I ended up picking up two of them about two weeks or so back. The house they were in and the conditions were pretty bad, so I hope I can kind of turn things...

New to Ringnecks
I've known about ringnecks birds for a while now, though I've only recently been in a position to obtain one. I used to be the caretaker of a two Cockatiels and two Quaker parrots for a number of years and I absolutely adored them all. So I feel a lot more confidant about new birds, but I want to le...
