Thanks for the reply Molossus. I have talked to a local breeder regarding ths and he had this problem with his male exhibition budgie. The budgie use to mate with the stick and mate with the hen too so in his opinion wait and see is the best policy and they are suggesting to widen the perch to a pla...

He is a full adult cockbird. Might be that he is breeding for the first time. The female seems to be little older than hm. Will try to gv them a smaller perch but the season is just on its end here.
