Re: Charlie, boy or girl? Any guesses.
Hi Sarah, I dont know the sex of my bird, i decided to wait so the closest place i can get DNA sexing done is 40 mins way and my car doesnt have heating or air con so im too scared i'll stress the bird. He/She also doesnt like being handled by anyone but me so i figured a long car ride and strangers...

Re: New! Hi all. :)
Hi Ellie, Thanks for informing me of that, i had no idea charlie thinks she's protecting me. I did know birds do that! I have put charlie with another IRN, a male and it didnt go well to start with. She attacked him like she did the mirror and i had to separate them. She kept trying to peck him in t...

Re: Digging and crooning
Hi, My lovely little blue IRn has the same behaviour, He or maybe she, I think she.. Put her head back and kinds of clucks, it lays down till its belly/breast touches the ground (doesnt matter where she is put) throws the head back and makes these noises and when she gets really happy she starts soo...

Re: yet another bluffing or territorial question.
Hi Ellie, I do have a friend who loves charlie and has asked if she can have him as he is so totall opposite to her bird but she lives half an hr away. She is the only one as my other friends and neighbours either hate birds or are too scared of him as he bites them. He seems to settle a bit better ...

Re: New! Hi all. :)
Hello pinkdevil, Progress is slow as i live alone and i dont get visitors ofen so im not surprised that charlie is only attached to me, i'd like her to be more social and was advised to take her with me everywhere i go but its just not possible or fair, i dont want to stress my bird by taking her to...

Re: Charlie, boy or girl? Any guesses.
Thats what i was thinking but im still very much learning about these birds. The agression at its reflecction doesnt matter if he's with me or at his cage, sometimes he talks to it but mostly its beak bashing and screaming till i remove him or the object. He's 1yr at the moment. He also has agressio...

yet another bluffing or territorial question.
Hi, I've had my bird charlie for 3 months now. I love him to bits! So easy to train, so quick to learn.. its been a breeze. Lucky for me as this is my first time as an IRN owner. Not really sure if it is a he or a she as i got him off a lady who left him sitting in a cage without interaction for 3-4...

Re: Charlie, boy or girl? Any guesses.
Im surprised at what i can do with him, its only been 3 months! He sits on my laptop when im typing, watches tv, rips leaves off trees when im doing the gardening and investigates noises in other rooms wether im in that room or the same room as he is. he even gets down on the floor and plays with my...

Re: Charlie, boy or girl? Any guesses.
Hi, Thanks for that. I've never had a ringneck before but im loving it! Charlie is good now but i think most of his nastiness came from not being handled for 3-4 months and me being new to him he needed to settle. He doesnt bite me anymore and when i speak to him directly he clucks, chirps or sighs ...

Charlie, boy or girl? Any guesses.
Hi all, I got a ring neck 3 months ago, im his 3rd owner and on one can tell me anything about him or her. The last person who had him said he was unfriendly so she left him in his cage for 3-4 months with no interaction. I dont mind telling you that he was pretty nasty even to other birds! All i kn...

Charlie! My Blue IRN baby.
Meet Charlie! He/she's a very active, very out there, happy go lucky bird. Always has to be where the action is, rarely quiet and super alert. I love it to bits and the training is coming along nicely! Especially when it hasnt been handled for 3 months. (old owners) Photos taken on friday the 18th f...
