From looking at other birds the mother could be a cinnamon turquoise blue? Would this mean that if the father was pallid split turquoise that the mother has passed the turquoise through to her sons?

I have a pic attached below. The cock looks to be blue pallid, not exactly sure what the mother is but she looks to have a green body with blue tail and flight feathers with a yellow tinge on the shoulders. http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp315/mathewwatson32/photos7-10-08111a.jpg http://i423.pho...

We're looking at a clutch that contains blue pallids and pastel blues and the breeder has told us that the pastels are sex linked cocks, obviously this is incorrect then and DNA sexing is the only way to determine the true sex of the birds?

Genetics - ???Pastel Blue sex-linked cockbird???

Hi all,

I'm of the understanding that being a recessive gene in ringnecks you can't have a guaranteed sex-linked pastel blue cockbird just by visually inspecting?

Can anyone confirm this belief or can you visually guarantee this outome?

Cheers
