Try opening up his cage and waiting for him to come out then try using the step up instruction, you could also try using a spare perch to get him to step onto that then transfer to your finger until he is happy to forgo that step, not sure if that is a particularly recommended method?? But it works ...

Hi All, About 6 months ago we bought a 12 week old Ringneck, he is a stunning little thing however we are having a tough time really training him. Don't get me wrong, he will take food from your hand, he will step up sit on your shoulder etc. but he does not particularly enjoy spending time with us ...

Hi All,
What age, if at all, did your ringneck start talking? Do they begin making sounds etc and then progress into talking?
