Hello, wow 4, how much fun are you gonna have!! Are they young or old? I have 3 , wish I could only have one cage, but they don't like eachother to well yet! Do you keep yours outdoors? I'm in the USA and can't do thAt, I think it would be such fun to have a big aviary outdoors to enjoy! Good luck!

Well good luck, we have 3 new irons, got two from a breeder and waited 3 months to get them, one blue and one yellow, now my yellow is slightly a mean little bugger, he loves to lung at us and bite, so he only gets handled with a stick, I can pet him and scratch his head but not hold on my hand yet,...

Hello, can anyone tell me what age di IRNs start molting?? I have one who is around 5 months old! And I've noticed some whole feathers on the bottom of the cage, they do have all that white fuzzy feathers on them also, I just wasn't sure how old they started this!! Help!!

Mine are all starting to be vocal, it's not Abadan or annoying sound, it's kinda cute! It takes time for them to get there voice! Mine are like 3,4,5 months old!!!! It's fun!!!! Can't wait for that animated little voice!!

Well I covered them last night and they all slept till 9am and wow what a difference that made, everyone is up eating, playing, chit chatting and bathing!!! Poor babies have not been getting good night slept for 3 weeks, hopefully this will help with the getting to know us process!!

The first couple times I covered one he dropped to the bottom of the cage and was freaking out so I uncovered him and he climbed back up to his perch to sleep, should I keep trying?

All????? Good golly miss Molly, how many do you have???? Quincy, my CAG, loved oatmeal, every night I fed him a teaspoon or so of cooked warm oatmeal for almost a year, he loved it and stopped begging during the day! How have you gotten over the hand shyness? Mine are very hand shy, I can now after about 10 days put my hand in cage and almost touch them...they will eat apples from my hand but I have yet to hold them!!!!

Small world eh JMM , we got our last Thursday two beautiful males a blue and a yellow, they are very traumatized buy the long day in flight and cargo holds, it was like 10 hours for them, we are in mi, I would love to hear your comments on your birds, so far so good with mine, we've named yellow boy...

Now today the green one is acting like he is petrified of. E, I go near the cage and he flys all o er to get away from me....these birds are little boogers for sure!!! I guess for now I will Judy enjoy them from a distance!!! Urgggg so frustrating!!!

We actually picked him up today and he loves to be handled, so at least we have we can hold for now!!
He is weaned already, and is very easy to handle!!!

Clinging to cage to sleep

Hello, got a few questions, we just got our two new IRNs, Thursday evening, they both cling to the top back corners of the cage to sleep at night, they sleep on a perch during the day but not at night, is this normal or should I be concerned?
