I have Jade (IRN) and Joe (Senegal). They have seperate cages but during the day I open their cages and let them play. Joe is the bossy leader and Jade just adores him. Joe is 16 months and Jade is 2 1/2 months. I hope as Jade gets older she will be a little more independant. She will beg for Joe to...

Thank you. Jade is getting around a little better now, not falling as much. And I don't have to chase her around the house worring that she is going to get hurt anymore. Next time she gets clipped I want to leave enough wing so she can at least fly a little like Joe does. He can fly a couple of feet...

wings clipped
I just went and had Jade's wings clipped and am feeling guilty. He took an awful lot off and she keeps falling. I had to do it, she was flying into the ceiling and was so fast I was afraid she might escape out the door and never see her again. Will she adjust and be able to fly some? I keep telling ...

Time and patience. Good for you to take the poor little fellow in!!!!! Move slowly and talk softly. Someone posted a good training post on this board, I am sure you will find it. My IRN is 9 weeks and she likes her veggies cooked so that they are soft but will eat her fruit fresh. Have your tried bi...

Is he feeding her?
I had to go out of town all day (doctor appt) so I put plenty of food and water in their cages. Jade had escaped her cage, I am not sure how long she had been out. This morning they are doing something I have never seen them do before. They are putting their beaks together and bobbing their heads, i...

My Senegal Joe hates to be covered and will flap about, I don't think my IRN Jade likes it either so I don't cover her. I put a small cement perch in the area where she has been clinging and she perched there last night but then switched to clinging so I am not sure what she is doing. She wants to b...

She only clings to the corner of the cage to sleep at night, if I take her from there and put her on a perch she will stay on the perch, but not tuck her head and foot like during her naps. She does not go to the bottom of her cage if she can help it. I bought some grapevine perches tonight and will...

Hello all!! I have a 8 week old ringneck. I have had her for two weeks now. She is flying already and has since the second day I had her (I was amazed by this). She quit showing interest in her baby food so I mashed cooked veggies and she went nuts and couldn't get enough. So I just mash the veggies...
