Too bad so sad

I have analyzed the cost benefit ratio of contributing to this board. The cost being my time having to listen to self-righteous, condescending, sanctimonious gasbags like **** vs. the benefit of good information here like "never let a bird stand on top of their cage" (also from ****) and i...

Yes a fart is an apt description of your posts. Thanks! I guess THOU art running out of arguments and resorting to personal attack? You must have suffered more than I thought ... so much angst in your posts. Just relax dude. This is just a message board. By the way, THOU means you. Omg quit farting!

You are speaking about all captive animals now. What does that have to do with crossbreeding IRN's? And that gorilla analogy isn't even worthy of a response. There's nothing wrong with the OP wanting to know about cross-breeding IRN's. If I wanted to hear someone preach about morality and values I ...

The issues of cross-breeding and 'puppy-mills' or 'birdie-mills' are two separate issues. If someone wants to crossbreed then they are just "all about money?" That's a stupid generalization. Unfortunately breeders, however much they like their animals, are about money. And we are the cust...

When a bird molts the feathers can fall out or come off while grooming. If he/she was molting you would notice a lot of feathers on the floor. Just because he pulled out a few feathers in front of you doesn't mean he his a 'plucker' Does he have any bald spots? Don't panic ;)

Let me put it another way. Let's say I stick you in a 4 feet by 4 feet cage along with a gorilla twice your size. The gorilla rapes you then you give birth to a humanoid. I take this man-ape offspring of yours and sell it for $15,000, or to do a Nikki, sell it to the highest possible freakin bidder...

Well I am happy to report Bailey took a full sprayer shower yesterday. I had tried a few times to get him used to the sprayer be was afraid. But yesterday I caught him trying to bathe in his water bowl so I took him out and he was ready for the spray. He loved it. Too bad my 6 yr old tiel is afraid ...

My aim is for Bailey not to do it period. Bailey has toys and his cage is actually bigger and nice than my tiel's. There's no disguising when Bailey has landed on the tiel's cage. (imagine flap flap flap THUD) Both cages face out toward the room and like I said Bailey doesn't care if the tiel is in ...

Bailey obsessed with 'tiel's cage

Hi guys. Bailey is only 3 months old and I have had him for about 11 days but I have spent a lot of time with him and he is doing very well so far. However, what started out as cute is becoming a bit annoying. He started doing this occasionally but now he frequently will jump off his cage, clipped w...

I would recommend (not just for fires) a HEPA filter for your AC. If it gets very bad perhaps try putting birdies in a small room with a portalble air ionizer/air filter.

What does submitting for a dna test entail? The last time I heard about this many years ago, without giving blood, you had to pluck some feathers or something? Is this the case? (owie!)

mickaboo.org

This is a bird rescue site I check every so often. I thought it was quite a coincidence there is an IRN as the featured bird. Please don't think I'm part of this site and spamming here, I just think it's a good site ;)

Bathing IRN's

Well I have had my IRN less than a week so I haven't tried to introduce him to bathing yet but I was wondering if there was a preferred method? I know some birds like standing water and others enjoy a spray bottle or gentle shower? Is there any consensus on bathing IRN's or is it pretty individual t...

That video is what got me take notice of IRN's! I mean I'd always thought they were very nice/cool looking but I had no idea they were that intelligent. Obviously AJ is special with special training but nonetheless.

Let me save you the effort here:

Haven't noticed a twist. But it is fun to watch him try to get the right grip on it. He drops a lot but he's just a baby ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I have been trying to handle him a few minutes at a time because he really doesn't seem to like it. Hello from Michigan!

Hi all! I recently acquired my first IRN only 3 days ago! I have had other smaller birds in the past and also currently have a 6 yr old tiel. Naturally, I was digging around the net for info and stumbled upon your site. My IRN is named Bailey and he(?) is only 2.5 months old. Everything is going ver...
