We have already hung posters all around the area, including local vet and pet shops. Believe me, we have done everything possible to get her back. We leave her cage outside, and search for her everyday. Miss hearing her songs in the morning. She used to steal the kids cereal and loved to have shower...

Baby flew the coup
It's been awhile since I posted, but thought I would tell everyone that our female lutino IRN, flew out the door 6 days ago, and we haven't seen her since. We have done everything our avian vet has suggested to retrieve her, but to no avail. She was recently clipped, but obviously not severley enoug...

It's all happening now!
Hello everyone, Haven't had a lot of time to visit, but just love to see the updates pics of IRN's around the world! Our Maize is now talking sentences. She is about 1 1/2 years old, and she is the greatest companion ever! She had a real rough go in her first year (she broke her leg twice) but she i...

Is it a cold?
My IRN has a runny nose and is sneezing. Does she need to go to the vet, or can I wait a couple of days to see how she does?

She spoke!!!
I am happy to announce that our Maize (10 month old female) spoke her first word today. She was clearly trying to say "hello", but it came out more like "berro."
I was wondering when this day would come! For those of you that have young IR's, just wait!
On behalf of Maize,
Denise

Maize likes so many kinds of foods. She loves cooked pasta, blueberries, strawberries, and other fruits. She also likes to steal cereal from our children She still enjoys her pellets, and other raw and cooked vegetables. She is pretty rough right now, as she has gone through her first molt. Her tail...

Not talking yet...
Hello everyone,
Our 7 month old Lutino IRN isn't talking yet (although she can do the cat call thing.)
Do all IRN's talk? Does anyone know the percentages? I really don't care if she ever talks, because she is so awesome, but it would be a nice perk!

Love the Lutino's!
I also have a lutino IRN (female..) She clucks like a chicken, and pays more attention to human males, although she will still step up for anyone, including strangers. She has gone through her first molt, and lost all of her tail feathers. Enjoy your new companion (by the way, I hope you chose Bitey...

Maize is all better
Hello everyone, Looks like Maize actually did break her leg. The vet said it probably occured from a rope perch in her cage, that she got her talon caught in. Needless to say, the rope perch is gone. Maize had a splint on for a month with a Elizabeth collar. She hated not being able to preen, but he...

My bird is ill!
I have recently bought a female lutino IRN. She has been an awesome family companion! I came home today to find that she is unable to move her right leg. She doesn't seem to be in pain, and she is still eating, but the vet is not able to take her until tomorrow morning. Any idea what could be wrong ...
