How many times can I knock it over?????
How many times can I knock it over????? I think Tiki is asking himself this question about some picture frames that are on a shelf by his cage. When I let Tiki out of his cage he is constantly on the top of it a reaching as far as he can (let me tell you he really has to stretch too!) to grab the ed...

A few more pics of Tiki
Well I contacted Avian Biotech and they said I could have Tiki retested for free. I am taking Tiki to the vet on the 8th (they lost his original blood work) so I am going to see if the vet will put some of Tiki's blood into the vile for the DNA testing and I can have it retested. The original result...

Tiki's cage....
is 20wx20dx28.5h. I have been wondering if this is going to be big enough for him, but so far it seems okay. I saw a really nice one at a bird farm yesterday. It was a corner model and must have been 6' tall and 4' wide. I would have loved to have had it, but it was way to pricey for me right now at...

What size cage and bar spacing is correct for an IRN???
I have read different opinions on what size cage you should house an IRN in. What size cage does everyone else here have. Tiki seems perfectly happy with his cage now, but since he is only 11 weeks old, will he outgrow it or is he already pretty much full grown? The current cage I have him in is 20"...

Tiki is finally out of quarantine
I love this new topic!!!! :D Yesterday I finally introduced my IRN Tiki to my two cockatiels Tinkerbell and Princess. Tinkerbell and Princess' cage sits on the left side of my couch and now Tiki's cage sits on the right side of my couch. All the birds where in there cages. Normally when I open Tiki...

Talking????
Okay, I know IRN are not suppose to learn to talk until they are about 1 year old. I have listened to the MP3's on this site and the Chattering one where the bird is practing talking, I swear this sound just like Tiki when I am talking to him. How many months do they practice before they start talki...

Boy or Girl???
Ringneck: In response to my earlier posting you said Tiki looked like a young female. I had a DNA test ran by plucking about 5 feathers from Tiki and sending it to this website: m. The results came back saying Tiki is a boy, however the breeder says he thought Tiki was a girl and you too thought Tik...

You could get a DNA test done
This link is to a website that offers free kits for testing your bird(s) and the fee for running the test is very reasonable. The link is:
http://www.avianbiotech.com/Index.htm
Also do you know how old your new bird is? Because males will look like females until their 3rd or 4th molt when they get their dark ring.

We just love our baby IRN
Tiki is only 9 weeks old, but he/she has totally captured our hearts. She is very loving and loves to sit on my lap and have her head petted and she will coo while I do it. She learned the step up command in less than an hour! Last night she was sitting in her little tree perch and my daughter walke...

Too cute
My 9 week old IRN Tiki was being so cute and affectionate last night. He hopped down out of his play tree and climbed on my chest and made a whimpering chirp sound while I petted him on the head and neck!
When I stopped he would whimper louder until I started again!

Coming hom
Tiki got to come home at 8 weeks, but it can take up to 12 weeks. I know it is VERY hard to wait and the night before you get to go pick him up, it is like a kid on Christmas Eve awaiting Christmas Morning!

My baby should be coming home soon!
Hello, I just placed a deposit on an adorable blue IRN on the 18th. I have already named him Tiki. The breeder said he should be able to come home at the end of the week. Currently he is on 1 hand feeding a day. I am REALLY excited! I am sure I will be hanging out on this message board more frequent...

Hello, I am new to this board. I am currently looking to purchase one of these beautiful birds but I am having trouble finding anyone selling them. I already have a cage for my new baby and toys, etc, I just need my baby! I did find several of these birds for sale at a local bird farm, but they are ...
